The student for the programmes in
MBA/MCA will be required to appear at a Written Test (CAT in case of MBA),
which will be held as per examination schedule enlisted in the Application Form
and the Brochure. The candidates who qualify in the Written Test will have to
appear in an Interview (in case of MBA there will also be Group Discussion) to
be held in the month of July/August, every year at the BIT Extension Centre for
final selection.
Performance at Interview will
carry marks upto a maximum of 15% of the Written Test. The final selection to
these programmes will be based on the academic performance in the written test
and at the Interview of short listed candidate at the respective centre or as
intimated. Appearing candidates would be required to produce Proof of Passing
the Qualifying examination at the time of interview.
It is made clear that Result of
the Written Test does not entitle a successful candidate for admission, unless
the candidate is finally selected in the Interview.
The decision of Institute
pertaining to all matters regarding Entrance Examination, Admission etc. will
be final and binding and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained.
Reservation of Seats:
50% of the total
seats shall be allotted to the candidates from the state of Jharkhand in all
programmes offered by the B.I.T MESRA, Ranchi at it’s main campus.
22.5% seats will reserved
for SC, ST candidates 15% and 7.5% respectively.These candidates must however
qualify the B.I.T Enterance Examination certain specified (but are relaxed
compared to those in the general category) norms. In addition seats in courses
where intake is 40 or more, have following additional reservations:
5% seats for the children of Defence Personnel.
3%
seats for Physically handicapped candidates.
3% seats for
Sportsperson, who has participated at National level in Games & Sports
Hostel:
No hostel facilities
shall be provided to the students admitted to the programmes at the Extension
Center.
Minimum Eligibility condition for Admission :

Programmes
MCA
3 Year(F.T)
Graduate (10+2+3 system) with
Mathematics / Statistics / Business Mathematics / Computer either at graduation
or Intermediate / +2 level obtaining at least 50% aggregate marks at graduate
level.
MBA
2 Year(F.T)
Graduate (10+2+3 system) in any
discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks at graduate level.
* M.B.A has a Tri-Semester System
Jurisdiction of Court :
In
case of any dispute concerning Entrance Examination of B.I.T. Mesra, the same
shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Courts at Ranchi.

courses may change according to university notifications.
