  • Computer Basics: Model of Computer, Characteristics and Problem solving. 
  • Data Representation: Representation of characters and integers in hexadecimal and binary.
  • Input/Output Units: Computer Input/Output units and Methods.
  • Computer Memory: Memory Cell, Organization, ROM, Physical devices used to construct memories, Magnetic Hard Disk, Compact Disk.
  • Computer Architecture: Interconnection of units, Processor to memory communication, Memory to processor communication, Interrupt Structures, Multiprogramming, RISC and Virtual Memory.   
  • Computer Language: Machine Language, Assembly Language, High Level Programming Languages example, C & C++.   
  • Computer and Communication: Need for computer communication, Networks, Communication channels, Physical communication media, Computer network topologies, Protocols, LAN, WAN and TCP/IP.   
  • Lab Assignments in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
